Provincial leaders and delegates attended the groundbreaking ceremony of BOT, upgrading and expanding National Highway 13.
On the morning of April 26th, the Provincial People’s Committee coordinated with Becamex IDC to organize “a groundbreaking ceremony for a BOT project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 – Binh Duong province” to meet the needs of the local developments as well as other localities in the region.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for direct implementation of the upgrade BOT project and expansion of National Highway No.13; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc – Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Head of Commission for Mass Mobilization of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Van Chanh – Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Danh – Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong southern province; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung- Board of Directors’ Chairman of Becamex IDC Corporation; and members of Provincial Standing Party Committee, leaders of district, cities, towns, leaders of departments, sectors, branches, representatives of businesses and residents.
According to the project, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan – CEO of Becamex IDC said: “To meet the needs of the province in the upcoming period, a BOT project should be upgraded and expanded, especially National Highway 13 – from Vinh Phu (Thuan An) to the intersection with Le Hong Phong St ( Thu Dau Mot). National Highway 13 will expand to 8 lanes to “be in tune” with belt and highway projects.

Besides meeting transportation needs and relieving traffic pressure, the renovation and expansion of National Highway 13 also have great significance in terms of economic, political, cultural, and sports development, and make up a driving force for MICE (Meeting–Incentives–Conventions–Exhibitions/Event) development in Binh Duong province.

After being temporarily transformed into a Field hospital No.1 to fight the Covid-19 pandemic for people in the province, WTC Exhibition Center – Binh Duong New City (WTC EXPO) has officially put into operation. The upgrade and expansion of National Highway 13 make an obvious mark as an arterial route from Ho Chi Minh city, in particular, from Tan Son Nhat Airport to WTC EXPO. It creates both a challenge and opportunity for the MICE industry of Binh Duong in general and WTC Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC) in particular.
