The Covid-19 situation is becoming increasingly more complicated, to support and solve the problem of overload and pressure of the healthcare system, the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province coordinated with Becamex IDC and the Provincial Advisory Board of Covid-19 were able to transform the premier events place – WTC BINH DUONG NEW CITY EXPO (WTC EXPO) (WTC EXPO) into a 1500-bed center for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms, in order to ease the burden on public hospitals, health authorities in Binh Duong amid the coronavirus infections.
While the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading rapidly, about 80% of recent cases are mild and nothing serious. It is expected that the field hospital at WTC EXPO will be on the 1st floor of the 3-story treatment pyramid model for Covid-19 patients that has been applied by Binh Duong province. It means the patients transferred to Binh Duong field hospital (WTC EXPO) are stable and recovering, while more serious cases will be transferred to public hospitals.
Specifically, the field hospital located at WTC Binh Duong New City EXPO (WTC EXPO) – one of the largest convention and exhibition centers in Vietnam, is built based on international standards with an area of up to 22,000 m2. The facilities at WTC / Becamex providing services including electricity, water, air compressors, parking lots, and waste disposal are well equipped and designed to facilitate in order to provide a good environment for Covid-19 treating activity.
After 5 days of construction, with the efforts of the Becamex IDC team, WTC BDNC team, and the cooperation of other forces in the province, Binh Duong field hospital was completed with a scale of 1,500 beds. The hospital is fully equipped with medical equipment, and a full management software system like a normal hospital with hospital management software system, office registration system, hospital website, CCTV system, in order to assist the construction and operation of the hospital in a safe and professional manner. In particular, the samples for testing and X-ray will be transferred to the Becamex international hospital system, the results will be analyzed by the medical team and digitized, transmitted to Binh Duong field hospital, quickly, and accurately to serve the treatment.

Besides Binh Duong field hospital at WTC EXPO, another infrastructure belonging to Becamex IDC company is the Student Start-up Workshop (in the campus of Eastern International University, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Hoa Ward. Phu, Thu Dau Mot City) with a scale of 1,500 beds have also been prepared and completed to support covid-19 treating & recovering. With the addition of treatment areas and Binh Duong field hospital, the province can currently treat more than 6,000 people at the same time.
All equipment & beds are freshly prepared to meet the standards of a professional hospital. Binh Duong Province’s Steering Committee for Preventing and Controlling COVID-19 ensured that after the epidemic was reversed, WTC EXPO would be disinfecting and cleaning the entire system according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health, including the pipeline. air conditioning, all the lobby, rooms, and common areas, in order to continue to be the destination for MICE, international trade shows, conferences, seminars, & cultural exchanges.
