With the great mission of developing the wood export industry into an outstanding industry of the region, Viforest Fair & WTC BDNC aims to organize international exhibitions on furniture and wood processing machinery to support the furniture export industry to achieve a target of USD 20 billion in export turnover by 2025, as planned by the government.

Vietnamese wood export turnover in 2022 reached over USD 16.5 billion, with the expectation of furniture export turnover reaching USD 18 billion in 2023, of which furniture will increase by over 3%, while MDF, PB, and plywood will increase by over 5%, and wood chips and wooden pallets will continue to increase at a staggering rate of 40-60%.

The demand for machinery for wood furniture export is certainly high, especially for export items such as kitchen cabinets and dressing tables. Machinery for dining tables and beds also has a large demand, especially high-tech CNC machines, and automated finishing lines.

Exported panel boards will definitely be one of the areas that attract a lot of investment. It is estimated that there will be more panel board manufacturing plants established to meet the demand for this intermediate material in the coming years.

Wood chips will also be developed in the coming year as acacia forests have been widely developed by the government, and the output of this species is increasing year by year.

Along with the development of wood chips, wooden pallets have also made a great contribution to exports. The estimated revenue is expected to exceed USD 2 billion in 2023, and the demand for machinery and accessories will increase accordingly.

In 2022, over 2 million cubic meters of round and sawn timber were imported into this market and were evaluated as one of the best timber import markets in Asia. Hardwood from the United States is mainly imported into the market.
