On 23 November, Becamex IDC, in collaboration with Asia’s leading exhibition company – Constella Singapore, hosted the Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP), the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, and the Asian edition of Hannover Messe. This is the 4th ITAP, which returned as a virtual event with physical bolt-on activities, focused on supporting Asia’s manufacturing industries’ needs in Industry 4.0, and how the applications of industry 4.0 may support the development of enterprise capacity.
ITAP was officially launched on 23 November, featuring a virtual fireside chat where organizers and industry representatives discussed this year’s topic: Developing enterprise capacity with 4.0 technology platform”.

At the program, Dr. Nguyen Viet Long announced that Vietnam had always been considered an industrial hub with thousands of factories forming and developing in industrial zones. In the coming period, Binh Duong wants to develop into an innovation region, so the application of Green Technology in production is one of the main issues that the province is very interested in.

According to Dr. Pham Tuan Anh, CEO & Director of Smart City Office and Director of Smart Manufacturing Center, Becamex IDC, Industry 4.0 is a great opportunity for developing countries. Vietnam has a young generation in the technology industry. We also need to change our mindset from outsourcing to developing our own solutions. This is the right time to enter the 4th industrial revolution.
Mr. Le Duy Nhat Luan – Technology Director of Takako Vietnam – the guest speaker of the event said that his company will focus on connecting lines, promoting IoT, and building a smart factory as the next activities here. At the discussion, Mr. Luan also shared, through the COVID pandemic, he realized the important role of IoT / technology/automation in all steps and systems. Technology development solves huge problems during the pandemic. However, how to apply technology to be effective, solve the cost problem, ensure practicality is still a question. According to him, investing in the workforce is the key to success in IoT system development.

Mr. Nguyen Vinh Loc – CEO of Daviteq Joint Stock Company, Challenges showed that the biggest problem that Vietnam was facing was which solution brought practical benefits to customers. After demonstrating the benefits, the cost issues, and data security issues. There are many criteria for factories to choose from. Daviteq offers solutions to optimize and solve these problems.
According to the discussion panel at ITAP 2021, the perspectives from our keynote speakers were given on the applications of Industry 4.0 in the context of production in Vietnam, the demand in many different fields, opportunities to cooperate and connect with Vietnamese manufacturers.
