Following cooperating, discussing, and agreeing with the Governor of Nebraska, USA. On the morning of July 12, 2023, Binh Duong Province and the State of Nebraska jointly signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” in order to promote the bilateral cooperation relationship between the two countries that has been steadily expanded, not only in the realms of politics – diplomacy, and economics – commerce, but also in the realms of security – defense, culture, education, science, and technology…
The signing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Vo Van Minh – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee. Also in attendance were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao – Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc – Chairman of the People’s Council of Binh Duong province; Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hang – Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Binh Duong province; Mr. Mai Hung Dung – Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Province; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC Corporation; together with leaders of provincial departments, branches and a number of US enterprises, enterprises cooperating with US partners in Binh Duong.
On the side of the delegation of Nebraska State, the United States of America invited guests to attend including Mr. Jim Pillen – Governor of Nebraska as the Head of the delegation; Ms. Joanne Li – Rector of the University of Nebraska-Omaha; Mr. Rustum Nyquist – Representative of the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and leaders of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Economic Development of Nebraska State.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province and the Nebraska State Government will strengthen the friendly relationship and expand cooperation activities in the fields of: planning, infrastructure development, urban construction, economic development, science and technology, health and education. Together make an effort to build a sustainable relationship, on the basis of cooperation results, to join hands to contribute to the socio-economic development of each party.
After signing this memorandum of understanding, both sides will give priority to promoting cooperation activities in science and technology, trade promotion and investment cooperation in the fields of industry and high-tech services, education, training, human resource improvement and supply chain value. Create all favorable conditions for business delegations of the two localities to learn and promote trade and investment promotion activities suitable to the potentials and strengths of each side.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Minh said: “The fact that the two provinces of Binh Duong and Nebraska signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of cooperative and twinning relations has enhanced the cooperation relationship between the two localities. The President of Binh Duong Province affirmed his desire to further deepen cooperation with the state of Nebraska in the future, contributing to promoting the good cooperation relationship between the two countries Vietnam – the United States, in areas such as planning, infrastructure development, urban construction, economic development, science and technology, health and education, prosperous socio-economic development of the two localities in the coming time.”
With similarities in training fields such as: Science and technology, health, engineering, economics, etc…The signing not only opens up opportunities for development cooperation for the two units, but also creates favorable conditions, brings learning, research and development opportunities to students through experiential activities, student exchange, academic projects… Eastern International University – invested by Becamex IDC Corporation, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Nebraska – Ohama.
