The Europe – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which came into effect on August 1st is expected to open a new era in the economic relationship between the two sides, in the context of countries around the world trying to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. The EVFTA, together with the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), are the two free trade agreements (FTAs) with the highest and widest range of commitments that Vietnam has ever engaged in.
