Phu An Bamboo Village

The Phu An Bamboo Village Eco-tourism Reserve is considered one of the largest and earliest established natural bamboo conservation areas in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Phu An Bamboo Village is designed with two main, relatively independent areas: a bamboo museum and a research area. The outdoor bamboo museum plays a crucial role in preserving, protecting, and showcasing the value of Vietnam’s bamboo ecosystem to visitors.

Currently, Phu An Bamboo Village boasts over 1,500 bamboo clumps belonging to 17 species, with more than 300 bamboo specimens collected from across Northern and Southern Vietnam, representing nearly 90% of Vietnam’s bamboo species, creating a unique “green bamboo collection.” In 2010, Phu An Bamboo Village was honored with the United Nations Equator Award for Biodiversity, becoming one of only 21 communities worldwide to receive this award.
